Copywriting for Search Engines

Welcome back !

Copywriting is a technique that is used to communicate a
clear message to readers through newspapers and websites.
Super copywriting is designed to both capture and then
retain the readers attention, and in some cases even grab
the readers attention away from a competitors offerings.
Readers are always looking for different information that
adds value to them so you need to determine what
information you can offer that will have this effect.

You can also use copywriting with computers and the
Internet. This is known as search engine copywriting.
Search engine copywriting is very popular now because many
people yearn for sites that generate plenty of traffic.
Why? Because this will in turn generate sales. Let's
explore this in more detail below.

Search engine copywriting is all about re-jigging the
content on your website so it becomes more appealing to
the reader/customer but also is able to be searched and
retrieved by the search engines. Writing for search engines
takes skill and when it is done correctly you should
receive higher search engine ranking and hence higher
sales.

There are many sites that depend on search engines (like
Google) to accumulate traffic. Search Engines take the
information from your site and cross reference it with
the keywords used by the surfer. Depending on how you
write and lay out your content, depends on whether the
search engine can retrieve your site.

There are companies and professionals that specialize in
search engine copywriting. Because it is so technical it
is usually better to leave it to the professionals. While
this can be a bit on the high side in terms of cost the
results will reap rewards. If you have a website that
could do with more hits then consider search engine
copywriting.

Prove It! The Power of Testimonials

Welcome back !

Go ahead - toot your own horn! But, do it via someone
else's words. While it's great to say you're wonderful and
offer so much of value to your visitors, your claims holds
much more credence when it comes from a source outside
yourself. Testimonials are powerful tools that pull your
visitors closer to you and persuade them into purchasing
what you have to offer.

Would you rather hear a salesperson say, "I'm fantastic!" or
would you rather hear a testimonial that reads, "The service
from this business was so wonderful that I wouldn't hesitate
to return!"? This type of testimonial adds credibility to
the business just like references on a resume. Some
marketing experts feel that a "C" should be included in the
AIDA formula to stand for credibility. The best way to
start build credibility is with testimonials.

Testimonials add that special punch to a website and nudge
the visitor to transition from a sightseer into a valuable
customer. Many websites mistakenly overlook adding
testimonials to their site and miss out on the power that
these statements have on revenue. To overcome obstacles
toward obtaining quality testimonials, below are some tips:

1. Ask for a testimonial in writing. The saying "if you
build it, they will come" transfers to building
testimonials. In other words, if you ask, many times
customers are more than happy to provide a testimonial.

2. The best testimonials are positive. If a client mails
you a positive comment, ask that customer to elaborate on
the comment along with permission to use it as a
testimonial. Lots of customers consider this a compliment.
Always get the customer's permission on a "release letter"
form before you use any testimonial. A sample release
letter can be found at
www.marketingtoday.com/marcom/testi2.com.

3. Offer a deal or reward in exchange for a freely given
testimonial. Notify customers of this testimonial campaign,
along with plans for monetary or donated rewards or future
discounts. Find out state laws on gift donation limits
before doing the campaign.

Many testimonial campaigns can be done directly from your
website, direct e-mails, or in the mail.

Use these testimonials generously throughout your website.
Don't limit the testimonials to one page! Testimonials have
the best effect when interspersed throughout the website and
strategically placed on pages that directly pertain to that
testimonial. Many testimonials work well in the left or
right margins, along side articles or product descriptions.
Also, inserting testimonials into content such as course
material is very effective.

Know your visitors, in particular their job positions, well
before inserting loads of testimonials. The more likely
that your visitors are pioneers or high-level executives the
less likely they will be persuaded by testimonials.
However, visitors who are "emulators" want to see plenty of
testimonials that represent an opinion they respect.

The most believable testimonials come from a real person and
uses real conversion language. A long testimonial is more
believable than a short testimonial. Below are tips for
selecting believable testimonials:

- Put the testimonial in quotation marks. End the
testimonial with the person's entire name and title. For
instance, "A.K. from Alaska" isn't as believable as "Andrew
Karver, Vice President of Sales, XYZ Company, Anchorage,
Alaska".

- General statements don't grab interest as well as a
testimonial full of details.

- Pick positive and real testimonials that make you stop
and say, "I want that to happen for me too".

The biggest mistake in using testimonials is to rely on the
testimonial to sell your product or service. Testimonials
are most powerful when it's used to propel your product or
service in a way that further supports the reader's decision
to purchase what you have to offer.

A Guide to Creative Writing That Sells

© Copyright 2005 Caterina Christakos

Welcome back !

It's unbelievable that with all the creative writing courses out
there, that no one teaches the necessity of researching your market
before you set pen to paper.

Yes, we all want to be creative and let our imagination go. At the
same time, wouldn't it be great to have some of your work published?
Even better wouldn't it be awesome to know that you have upped your
chances of getting published by around 80% by simply doing a tiny bit
of browsing in a library or bookstore?

Here is a way to make sure that there is an interest in your type of
story before you pick up a pen or pull out your laptop:

1) Go to the local bookstore and read the writing magazines. Editors
actually tell these magazines what they are interested in, in a
fairly timely manner. Most of the guess work is taken out for you.
You know which editors are looking for what type of stories.

2) Look at the current Writer's Guide. It is filled with editors and
publishers looking for fresh material. And guess what? They also tell
you what each editor wants and what they are sick to death of.

3) Check out the bookshelves to see which children's books are
featured. Is there a trend or pattern? For example the last few years
Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl and Charlie Bone have all been hot. It
doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that magical characters
have taken kids and editors by storm.

4) Ask kids what their favorite books are. Ask them why they like one
over the other. Ask if their friends are into the same books. Model
these themes.

There is no need to make over the wheel or hire a psychic to figure
out what publishers, editors and your audience - kids, are looking
for. Gather this information and apply it to your writing. Watch the
number of your submissions

bandwidth and your hard disc space?

your inbox could be put to much better use. In the European
Union alone, the working hours employees are spending on
sorting and deleting spam is costing the companies and
estimated 10 billion euros every year! By manually sorting out

the number of spam e-mails are expected to rise to 30 billion

e-mail traffic in the U.S.

Spam is not only annoying, it's dangerous and it is causing
financial losses for companies as well as individuals. For
example, an estimated 10 billion euros are spent every year
by companies in the European Union to deal with spam. Spam
is sent out by fraudulent companies and individuals and can
often be infected with viruses, spy programs or other

problems since it consumes the users' time as well as hard

Promoting Your Website Through a Press Release

© Copyright 2005 George McKenzie

Welcome back !

Have you ever gotten one of those letters from your local
property tax appraiser, informing you that your tax bill is
going up about 20 percent?

I got one of those recently, so I took it to my friend
Joe Gross in San Antonio. He appeals property tax assessments
for a living.

"Man," he said. "I've never seen assessments shoot up like
they have this year."

My "news antennae" shot up. Then when he showed me his new
web site, which gave property owners a chance to look up
appraisals of other homes in their neighborhood, I told
him, "Joe, you've got write a press release about this new
website."

I helped Joe put together a press release and distribute it
to local radio and TV stations. A few nights later, there
was Joe, on the evening news, describing his web site to
tens of thousands of viewers.

Could it happen to your website? You bet, if you remember
a couple of basics--and write an attention-grabbing press
release

***Learn to spot opportunities. When you see, hear or
read something that relates to your field, call the reporter
who did the story and offer "another angle" or a "follow-
up." Reporters are often judged on their ability to
"enterprise" their own stories and ideas, and if you help
make THEIR job easier...guess what they're likely to do for
YOU?

Recently the San Antonio Express News ran a story about
some new software. Darrin Schroeder, VP of a San Antonio
company that had just rolled out a similar product, called
the reporter and offered a "follow-up." Result: front page
story, with color picture, several days later.

***Don't be afraid to ask. Listening to a pitch is part of
every reporter's job. And keep this in mind: because they
work on deadline, they don't always have much time to talk.
So sometimes "No" just means "Not now." It's okay to try
again another time.

***Talk high touch more than high tech. A high tech feature
is great...but only if it results in a high touch benefit
that makes life simpler, easier, more enjoyable, or more
interesting. Pitch how it saves time or money and cuts down
aggravation. Humanize it as much as possible, and if you
know of someone who legitimately loves and uses your site,
offer them as a possible interviewee.

Writing a press release to promote your website isn't
nearly as hard as you probably think. It will cost you
some time and energy, but it doesn't have to cost you cash.
You WILL get results if you keep trying, and the rewards
will far outweigh the effort.

Just ask Joe Gross.

To see the entire press release I wrote for Joe, along with
a line-by-line explanation of why I wrote it the way I did,

Spy Sweeper named PC Magazine's Best of the Year 2004

Welcome !

The very best AntiSpy program on the market -

Webroot Spy Sweeper. Webroot Spy Sweeper was named best
spyware remover 2004 by PC magazine and praised for it's
efficiency, speed and userfriendlyness.

Spyware and malware are large problems for Internet users today
and can be both annoying and a real threat to you and your
computer. There exist a number of different spy and malware of
which some are relatively friendly and only spies on your surfing
habits, while others like the Trojans can be used to corrupt your
hard drive or steal your usernames and passwords. A Trojan can
even be used to steal your identity by extracting all necessary
information from your computer.

You may think that ad ware might not be that bad, that it is good if
the ads are chosen to fit your interests. This might be true if the
spy ware didn't have a number of other negative effects, such as
an increased amount of pop up ads, unexplained home page
changes, strange results when searching the web and the fact
that your computer are being slowed down by the spy wares.
These are all very common results and symptoms of spyware and
ad ware. More unusual problems connected with spyware and
Trojans are the corruption of the hard drive, the loss and exposure
of private information and login information and in a worst case
scenario, the theft of the identity of the owner of an infected
computer.

Spyware is a large treat to the security of your online privacy.

There are however steps that you can take to avoid suffering the
negative effects that spy- and ad ware can bring, and start
protecting you computer and building an Identity Theft Protection.
The first of these steps are to get a good antispyware and
antiadware program able to remove spyware. There are a number
of different spyware removers available and two of the most well
known might be Ad Aware and Spybot which are both good
programs. The best available program that is designed to remove
spyware and adware is however at the moment SpySweeper
which was chosen as the best spyware remover 2004 by PC
magazine.

Spy Sweeper can scan your computer 30% faster then other
available products and successfully remove spyware like
CoolWebSearch. Spy Sweeper also uses a system monitor that
automatically discovers spy ware and prevents installation of
spyware on our computer. Spy sweeper is effective for spyware
and adware removal.

The active shield uses System Monitoring to in real time prevent
new spy- and adware programs from being installed on your
computer. This fact combined with the fact that Spy Sweepers
uses a constantly updated database of all available spy- and ad
wares means that this adware remover can clean your computer,
ridding it of any and all spy- and ad ware. Once it has cleaned your
computer it can keep it clean and assure that your computer stays
clean from ad- and spy ware.

By keeping your computer free from spyware and adware Spy
Sweepers also protects your information and keeps your identity
safe. Spy Sweepers prompts you to update it if it has been to long
since it was last updated.

If spy sweeper finds a spyware it will immediately quarantine the
spyware and disable the spy wares functionality until you can
decide whether to delete the file or try to clean the file from
spyware elements and return the file to its original place on your
hard drive.

If you have a problem with Spy Sweeper despite its highly user
friendly and automated design you will have access to an excellent
customer support where experts answers any question you might
have.

Spy Sweepers deserved the title PC Magazine's Best of the Year
2004 since it can do everything the alternatives can do, but better
as well as faster then the alternatives.
